Hull City Southern Supporters are a totally independent group based in London, but with members in places as diverse as Texas, Finland and Chelmsford. We were formed towards the end of the 1983/84 season by exiled City fans who realised that they kept catching the same trains on a Saturday morning. The membership has now risen to 105 and group travel is now arranged (by train or minibus) to all matches where there is sufficient interest. Car sharing is co-ordinated for "less glamorous" fixtures. Members receive a monthly A5 newsletter called 'Tiger Eye' to keep them in touch with all travel plans, City news, and general gossip. On the social side we have various teams competing on the fields and in the pubs of London. In the Home Counties Quiz league our football quiz team has also tasted success in recent years. New players and groupies more than welcome for all teams. Last season other social events included a "meet the players" evening, where members were invited to chat with City players in their London hotel before that awful effort at Upton Park, an Easter football match in Hull against the ex-Tigers (Waggy an'all), a Christmas get-together and several other informal shindigs. Slightly more formally, we hold monthly meetings throughout the season. We enjoy an excellent relationship with Hull City, frequently appearing in the matchday programme, and we are constant player sponsors (Peter Swan this season). Anyone renewing their membership, or joining for the first time will be entered into a draw on October 1st with a football autographed by the full City squad as the breath-taking prize. Membership is £5.00 per season.
